Al Pacile comes to Kopali from the world of community-based environmental planning, in which he specialized in economic development and land management. His practice centered on regions as disparate as the deserts of rural New Mexico and the tropical forests and urban slums of Brazil. At Kopali, in implementing the most righteous business practices possible through empowering partnerships with farmers and their communities, Al’s work is an expression of his pursuit of environmental and social justice, and a statement of love for the planet and all beings in it. Outside work, Al is a dedicated practitioner of Taijiquan, rock climbing, and a family man.
